Scholarships in India
Over the last 10 years, there has been a surge in scholarships and fellowships offered by Government of India and each State Government to students from 1st Std to Ph.D and also pursue higher studies in foreign universities.
The scholarship schemes especially for the weaker, backward and downtrodden sections of the society have not only encourged students to pursue their education but also reduced burden on poor and needy parents.
Since 2012, almost all Government Scholarships have gone ONLINE. Right from the Application form to the mode of delivery of scholarship, the entire process is ONLINE. Here are some of the observations CIGMA Foundation has had after working in this field for over 8 years and processing 3,00,000 plus scholarship applications.

In view of all facts presented above and the recent developments by the new Central Government policy to bring all scholarships under one roof, CIGMA Foundations has designed eSCHOLAR 2016 – a One Stop solution for Government Scholarships
Advantages :
- Students can directly enter their details without making any TYPO mistakes.
- Students get the advantage of filling the form at their convenience.
- Students can track their application using the unique ID assigned to them.
- Students get an acknowlegement from the Software after filling the form
Challenges :
- Students are unable to fill the form due to issues in software and internet many times.
- Students make mistakes in filling the form as certain fields donot carry clear description.
- Students make calls to HELPLINE Nos. for help but unfortunately have to wait for long hours or they just cannot speak to them due to heavy volume of calls.
- Students take more than expected time to fill the form becauase of heavy internet traffice. This results in frustration and eventully student gives up on applying for Scholarship.

- eSCHOLAR CENTRE will offer solutions for multiple schemes in one Place. If a family has 3 children studying in 3std, 10std and 1st year B.Com, the eSCHOLAR CENTRE will guide and help the parent apply for all the 3 Children who come under 3 different scholarhips.
- eSCHOLAR CENTRE will have well experienced and trained staff who will assist the students and parents to apply as per the guidelines .
- eSCHOLAR CENTRE will have High End Computers, Scanners & High Speed Internet to do ONLINE Filling of Forms in the fastest possible Time
- eSCHOLARS CENTRE will charge Nominal Fee for each Service and will always be a Not-for Profit and Not for Loss Project.
How can students benefit from eSCHOLAR 2016 ?
Option 1: Visit eSCHOLAR 2016 CENTRE in your city and collect the Printed ONLINE APPLICATION Format. Get Guidance on all the required documents and again come back to the eSCHOLAR 2016 CENTRE and submit all details and documents. The eSCHOLAR 2016 CENTRE will then SCAN all your documents and also do the ONLINE APPLICATION FILLING on your behalf and give you the Permanent ID Generated and acknowledgement
Option 2 : If you have internet facility, visit http://www.cigmafoundation.org/escholar/ and download the format of the ONLINE Application. Fill the format and visit eSCHOLAR 2016 CENTRE which will then SCAN all your documents and also do the ONLINE APPLICATION FILLING on your behalf and give you the Permanent ID Generated and acknowledgement. If there is no eSCHOLAR 2016 CENTRE in your city, you an fill the ONINE APPLICATION from your home or school or college or NGO or Cyber Centre.

- Moulana Azad Scholarship 2016-17 (For Minority Girl Students) – ONLINE APPLICATION
Offered by : Moulana Azad Education Foundation
Who can apply ? Girl Students studying in 1st year PUC / 11th Std
Amount of Scholarship : Rs.12000/-
- Pre Matric Scholarship 2016-17 (For Minority Students) – ONLINE APPLICATION
Offered by : GOI, Ministry of Minority Affairs & GOK, Directorate of Minorities
Who can apply ? Students studying Class 1 and 10
Amount of Scholarship : Rs. Rs.5,000/-

Amount of Scholarship : Rs.6000/- to Rs.13,000/- depending on the course

- Merit-cum-Means Scholarship 2016-17 (For Minority Students) – ONLINE APPLICATION
Offered by : GOI, Ministry of Minority Affairs & GOK, Directorate of Minorities
Who can apply ? Students studying in Engineering, Medical, Nursing, Law, Veterinary, Agriculture, MBA, MCA, etc..
Amount of Scholarship : Rs.25000/- to Rs.30,000/-. Students of Selected National Institutes get upto Rs.5 Lakhs !!

All and best efforts will be made to ensure that scholarship applications are filled correctly and in time. Inspite of all the correct and best efforts if any student does not receive scholarship, its purely because of rejection by the concernmed Government Department.
